One of my favorite vendors for subscription boxes is Cratejoy. And they usually have some kind of promotion going on, as do most of the individual subscriptions. Betty Boomerang is for the person who loves retro. Think “atomic” ranch house, mid-century modern and more! This subscription box contains 4-5 items per box, which is shipped mid month. It can include things like coasters, glasses, cockatail products, calendars and more. Their themes are adorable. Previous boxes include “Cozy Campler” and “Totally Tiki”.
It should be noted this subscription box goes out every other month. You can order one box, 2 boxes over 4 months, 3 boxes over 6 months, or 6 boxes over twelve months. And when you’re filling out your purchase, they even take the time to ask you for your favorite retro themes. Talk about personalized!

The Conundrum Box
The Conundrum Box reminds me of my childhood, although it’s perfectly appropriate for adults too! It is part escape box and part choose your own adventure! (RAD). You get an immersive experience through music, food, history, fiction and you even get drink recommendations to complete your adventure. You can play in a group or by yourself. The box comes with puzzles, ciphers, hints, stories and materials. You even get themed recipes, drinks and playlist ideas. WOW!
Every box has a satisfying ending, but the boxes also correlate from box to box, for extra excitement. Each one will get you about 1.5 to 3 hours of fun! The Dapper Dog Box
This box cracks me up! I wish my dog would wear clothes (she refuses, like hardcore). The Dapper Dog sends healthy treats, toys and limited edition bandanas for your pup monthly! Each box has 5 full sized products on a theme. Some of the past themes have been Coachella, Southern Charm and Happy Howlidays! Besides all the obvious fun and cuteness for YOUR pup, this company donates a portion of sales to an animal rescue. So you’re helping other pups too!
As far as subscription options, you have a couple choices. You can choose the original box, or you can get a box with just bandana and toys, no treats. They also allow you to specify the size of your dog as well! And they keep it simple, with a month-to-month subscription, so no need to commit long term.

Flying with Air
Flying with Air is a self-care box. And I know you’re thinking ok Lauren, that’s not too unique, there are a bunch of self-care boxes out there. But what makes this box stand out is the story behind the owner. She was a victim of human trafficking (and obviously a survivor). She curates each box to feel like a gift. They’ve got a boho/hippie vibe and feature artisans from all over. She even writes each person’s name on the box individually. Super cool!

Fruit for Thought is a unique subscription box because it really creates a sensory experience. Each month they choose a fruit theme (but they don’t send actual fruit!). The items in the box could include jewelry, accessories, home décor, stationery, bath product, snacks and more. The box comes with 5-7 items that are both fun and unique. Past themes have been “Juicy Watermelon”, “Peaches and Cream” and “Cherry Vanilla”.
The options for subscriptions for Fruit for Thought include 1, 3, 6, and 12 months in length! Like almost all others, the subscription auto-renews, but can be cancelled at any time.

It’s a great gift idea because it is so unique and fun. I always think the best gift ideas are things that people might not buy themselves, but would have fun with.

Once Upon a Book Club
I think this is the most unique book subscription that I’ve seen. Once Upon a Book Club provides a unique reading experience. Experience being the key word. Each box comes with a newly released book and 3-5 wrapped gifts. These wrapped gifts are labeled with page numbers. As you read, when you get to that page number, you unwrap the gift. And, of course, the gift correlates to the story. Talk about bringing a book to life! Additionally, each box comes with discussion questions, read along dates fro live discussion and a quote print!

We’re halfway through 2020 (what a crazy year) and the Quirky Crate has already been voted USA Today’s #1 Lifestyle Subscription Box of 2020! This box is fun and certainly deserves a place on my unique subscription boxes list. It delivers 7-10 quirky items including an enamel pin, and item from a featured indie artist and a fun pair of socks. Other items can include eccentric hand bags and accessories, stationery and stickers. No matter what you get, the value is over $70 each month.

The Blend Box is one of my favorite unique subscription boxes because of the experience. You get to choose from 25 different themes and you’ll only receive boxes in the themes you’ve pre-approved. This woman owned subscription operates from a vintage RV, which is super cool.
