I’m a movie geek. If you’ve read almost any other post in the blog, you’ll know that I’m pretty much a geek about a lot of things. Lol. But, I’ve had a love of movies ever since I was a child. I loved watching anything and everything. Even the sad movies. (Anyone remember the Secrets of Nimh or American Tale?) Anyways, this gift idea list is great for any cinephile in your life. There’s everything from treats to enjoy while watching a flick to actual movie bucket list items. So, let’s dive in to the ultimate gifts for movie lovers.

Cinephile Card Game
This game is perfect for an adult movie night party, game night, or just for fun with your family. If you have a friend/brother/mother who loves movies, this game is awesome. One of the coolest thing about this game is that there are multiple ways to play it. So, if you’ve played out the first way, you can try a new game instruction! They have easy to definite film geek levels within the game. Cinephile is the perfect start to our ultimate gifts for movie lovers list.

Movie Scratch Off Poster
I love this scratch off movie poster for a film lover. It doesn’t just include award winners, either! It has critically acclaimed AND fan-loved movies. Win-win. Your gift recipient simply scratches off a movie after they’ve watched it and has fun trying to scratch off the whole poster.
There is also a kid’s version, which would be an awesome gift for a child who loves movie, or a family to do together! You can include the children in the gifts for movie lovers! I know a few young cinephiles!

Movie-Lover’s Clothing
These items, although they don’t go together, necessarily, are great for any film geek. The first is a Blockbuster tee-shirt that reads “be kind, rewind”. If you’re over 30, you’ll remember this and Blockbuster, but there is a chance you’re young enough that you have no idea what I’m talking about. That’s ok, your parents will love this shirt, trust me. Lol.
The second item is a pair of socks with words on the bottom. This is perfect for when your lounging on the sofa, with the feet up on the table. The socks read “do not disturb” and “I’m watching movies”. Pretty much sums up my teenage years. Lol.
Thirdly, a more professional approach, is the film tie. This tie is grey with small black clapperboards or slate boards. (Depending on which term you use). It’s made by a small family owned business in San Diego, CA. The film clappers are embroidered on for a high-quality look and feel. It’s a standard length and slightly narrower width than a normal tie.
Grab your Blockbuster shirt, Movie socks or your film clapper necktie.
Movie Buff Mug
This mug is so creative. It has a bunch of numbered movie icons that whoever you give your gift to, can sit and figure out the clues. There are 50 movies to guess on the mug, sure to keep you busy at least throughout morning coffee. It’s got the answers on the bottom of the mug, so no need to worry if you get stumped. The mug also comes in a super fun box and is machine washable. (OH YEAH!)

Popcornopolis 12-pack
No movie gift is complete without popcorn, right? Popcornopolis is delicious, in case you haven’t had it before. And, you get to try four different flavors in this twelve pack! (Caramel Corn, Cheddar Cheese, Kettle Corn, and Zebra). Since I love junk food, I can admit that I’ve had all these flavors, and they are tasty.
There’s three of each flavor in the gift pack. All of their products are free of high-fructose corn syrup and trans fat. They use coconut oil to cook their popcorn. And, it has a 9 month shelf life, so even if you’re gifting this to one person, you can rest assured they’ll have plenty of time to get through it. Gifts for movie lovers don’t have to be movie things only! It can be popcorn!

Movie Projector
If we’re going to gift to a film buff, why not go all out right? This projector is perfect for the person who wants to watch movies at home (which, as I am writing this, is the only option due to quarantine). You can use the projector screen THAT COMES WITH IT, or just use a white sheet. (Been there and done that. Pro tip: iron the sheet or you’ll be watching a wrinkly movie. Lol).
This projector is compatible with smartphones, tv sticks, games, hdmi, av, ok for outdoor projection and comes with a 100” screen. Not too shabby!

1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die Books
These books are super fun for any film lover. They can make their way through the films in the book one at a time, or maybe just use it as inspiration for finding their new favorite gem. The most recent one is 2019 at the time of this post, but the 2020 is available for pre-order. So, I’ll link both. The movies in this book are selected by a team of international film critics. Each movie has a profile packed with details, tidbits, and trivia.

Movie Journals
While you’re getting your friend or family member the bucket list book up there, why not a journal to go along with it? There are two that I really like, each unique in it’s own way. The first is Film Listography. This is a journal that basically is for the person who loves to make lists. It has prompts like “List Your All Time Favorite Movies” or “List All the Movies You’ve Walked Out of” or “List the Movie Scenes You Can’t Watch”. It really makes you think about the movies you’ve seen and walk down memory lane.
The second one is a Movie Challenge book. I like this one because it would prompt you to stretch your limits and think outside the box. If you’re always watching dramas, it would force you to try something new like animation. (They make those for adults too, you know). This book is a 52 week challenge (a year) and it asks you to watch a movie from a different category each week, like watch a movie “with subtitles” or “starring animals” or “low budget, big box office”. Then it gives you space to be your own movie critic, asking you to write down your favorite quote, give it a star rating, etc.

5-Piece Film Themed Wall Canvas
This wall canvas is a great gift for movie lovers because it’s so fun and unique. It’s a great way to spruce up the good ole movie room. It’s printed in HD on glossy, high-quality canvases. The company that makes them has a TON of different movie canvas options as well. Check out all the amazing designs. It’s also ready to hang when you pull it out of the box. Nice and easy, just how we like it.

Popcorn Bucket and Socks Combo
Even though this is a list of gift ideas for movie lovers, you can definitely include popcorn lovers, as well. They go hand in hand. This gift idea is a set of two popcorn buckets, that comes with a set of popcorn socks! It even comes in a gift bag. This is a great, simple gift idea for a movie lover in your life. It would be great to gift this with some popcorn, or maybe popcorn flavor shakers? ….keep on reading.

Popcorn Flavor Shakers
These popcorn flavors are made by Kernel Season’s. (Clever). They are made to shake on top of your popcorn and add flavor. The flavors that come in the set are: Nacho Cheddar, Butter, Cheesy Jalapeno, Kettle Corn, Bacon Cheddar, White Cheddar, Caramel Corn and Ranch. I mean, if that doesn’t sound like an awesome buffet of popcorn goodness, I don’t know what does!
They are about 31 servings per jar (1/4 teaspoon a serving – so if you’re like me and dump a bunch on, it will be more like 16 servings. Lol).
Get your Kernel Season’s Popcorn shakers on Amazon.
Movie Theater Home Accents
These two home décor items are the perfect gifts for movie lovers. The first is a set of three pillow covers is great for the movie room. They come with three different designs of 18” x 18” pillow covers. Don’t forget the pillow inserts! The covers feature a film roll, movie clapper and theater style fonts. They are machine washable and feature invisible zippers for a high-quality look.
The second is a tripod cinema table lamp. It also comes in a floor lamp. The lamp has an adjustable height and angle, is foldable and made of natural solid wood. It has a vintage or retro feel. The lamp has an on off switch and decent length cord for easy maneuverability around the house. It’s the perfect gift for a movie lover!

Retro Popcorn Maker
Last but not least, we have the retro popcorn maker. Now, this is for the ultimate film geek. It looks like the old time popcorn makers. You can buy it with or without the stand. So if you don’t want it to take up that much room in your buddy’s house, skip the legs and leave it a counter piece. This puppy will pop up to 32 cups of popcorn – which is great for movie night with the family or friends. It holds 8 ounces of unpopped kernels. The glass is scratch and heat resistant for your safety. There’s even a drop door in the front for easy serving!
Grab your Vintage Popcorn Maker in black or red.
Wrap Up
Well, as an honorable mention, I have to throw Kernel Crate out there. You can read about it in the Unique Subscription Box post. But, it’s basically a popcorn subscription with unique monthly flavors! Perfect for monthly movie night! What do you think about the overall gifts for movie lovers?
