Las Vegas Dinner Party Theme Table Setup
First and foremost, let’s start with the table! I love the Harmony Collection plates from Smarty Had a Party. Their disposable dinnerware is super high quality and they have some incredibly beautiful designs. I almost used these plates for my wedding reception! (Covid had other plans for my wedding though. 🙂 Luckily, this is a great opportunity to use these gorgeous plates.
This place setting has the blue & gold Harmony dinner plates, salad plates and gold utensils. This combined with a red charger and gold cloth napkin, make a perfect Vegas dinner party theme table setting. Normally, you wouldn’t think these items go together, but the colors are reminiscent of the Las Vegas sign and the plate topper pulls it all together.
This plate topper is just a picture of the Vegas sign that I printed out to help create some cohesion between all my Vegas colors: blue and gold plates, red charger and gold cloth napkin! I have a free download of this Vegas sign that you can use for your party! You can get that below.
For the center of the table, I would definitely do a glitzy table runner. I love a table runner better than a tablecloth. I think they are more modern and less of a hassle. These are my favorite table runners below. They have a two pack that is super affordable. They also come in multiple colors, including gold, red and blue…the colors of our dinner party!
Las Vegas Dinner Party Decorations
I decided to do the DIY thing for a party backdrop for photo props, or as a welcome sign. You could use it either way! It’s a collage style poster board that uses a bunch of different items in the colors of red, yellow and blue to create the Vegas sign! I will be honest, it did take some time to complete. So, throw a movie you like on in the background, or your favorite playlist! Then get to drawing and gluing! You can see a video of how it all came together below.
If DIY isn’t your thing, you can also just check out this cool Vegas backdrop from Amazon. It comes in a few different sizes and makes for a great addition to you dinner party. It’s got the glam, the right colors and definitely adds to the vibe. You can get this backdrop (pictured below) here on Amazon.
Vegas Dinner Party Food Ideas
When you think of Vegas food, you think of over the top or you think of buffets. So, I would definitely suggest a buffet style dinner, or a food bar. If you’re like me, and don’t love to cook, you could get some catering from a local restaurant. Some of the restaurants I looked at when I was first planning my wedding was Maggiano’s and Buca di Beppo. They both have very affordable catering programs that feature a lot of food!
All I would suggest is to pick a style of food and stick with it: Italian, Chinese, American, whatever you like! UNLESS, you’re doing a whole around the world vibe. But, don’t overcomplicate it for yourself. Know your comfort zone. You want this to be fun for you too!
For dessert, I would definitely do a dessert bar. The best place to accomplish this would be a Costco or Sam’s Club. Somewhere you can get and display bulk. Think cookies, brownies, cakes, pastries, candy and more! This is the fun of Las Vegas, lots of food! (Plus people love to bring home food and dessert too). The other benefit of buffet style is that you can enjoy and you don’t have to serve everyone.
Las Vegas Dinner Party Theme Activities
You don’t need too many activities for your dinner party. But, it is nice to have one or two things to do. One idea is a Table Topics game. It’s a conversation starter. There are fun questions to discuss as a group. Just remember to keep it lighthearted. You can pick up a game like this on Amazon here.
Another fun idea, no matter what age you are is Photo Booth props. Everyone loves to take photos, especially now, with social media. Photo props can be used in front of your DIY Vegas sign or your purchased Vegas sign backdrop. I found some on Amazon that are perfect! You can see them below!
Finally, I would definitely have music! I have a playlist for you below. It’s a Vegas/Card theme set of songs, perfect for something different for your party. You could also go with the classic Rat Pack songs too! Either way!
Vegas Dinner Party Favors
I have a whole post on a simple Las Vegas themed DIY party favor. I love the presentation of this fun drawstring bag. The inside holds a deck of cards and any other things you’d like to stick in there! I added a personalized Vegas poker chip keychain to mine. I also love that this party favor is a bit more sophisticated and adult! You can read the full post and DIY here.
I also love the scratch off gambling card for a party favor too! This is a super fun way to get a Vegas feel without being in Vegas! Just grab something fun as a prize (bottle of wine, box of chocolates, whatever you want to gift). Then you can hand out these cards and the winner gets the prize. You can get these slot machine scratch cards here.
Wrap Up
Overall, Vegas is a great theme for any party, but a dinner party just seems fitting. Plus, you can’t pass up those gorgeous disposable plates from Smarty Had a Party! But, no matter how you style your Vegas Dinner Party, the important thing is to just have fun with it! Hopefully, you’ve found some inspiration.
