Summer birthdays are the perfect excuse to have a fun theme party! But, beyond that, it’s so fun to come up with summer themed gifts. You may be going to a bbq and need a hostess gift, or may be hitting up the summer birthday party of a friend. Either way, this blog post goes over a quick and easy summer gift that you can put together for under $20. You can’t beat a gift that’s affordable and easy.
What You’ll Need for Your Summer Gift

- Snack(s)
I got all of these items at The Dollar Tree. You can find so many items there that are summer themed. I would even suggest picking items you feel would work best! Maybe some sunscreen, or a beach ball. It’s fun to just pick all kinds of items that would fit your summer gift theme.
I chose my items to fit within the same color scheme. I like my themed gifts to match as much as possible. So, I picked things within the same few colors. But, you can mix and match how you like!
How to Put Together Your Summer Gift Tote
This is an easy one, we are really just going to put things in the bag. Super simple! What I would say, is you can still put some crinkle paper or tissue paper in there to help buffer and fill out the bag, so it looks stuffed. You can use cellophane to cover the whole thing like a gift basket too. I chose to just use tissue and fill the bag. Then I used some ribbon to top it off.
Another idea is to use some tape or glue dots to keep items together and from shifting all around your bag. It’s not super necessary, but provides a nice gifting experience! You can see my DIY video below for how I put mine together:
Other Summer Gift Bag Ideas
You don’t have to do a bag full of random summer items! You can pick a totally different theme for your tote bag. The possibilities are endless. Here are some gift tote theme ideas for you:
