How to Put it Together

This DIY wedding centerpiece idea is super easy. It was more difficult to find and put together the initial idea. Once I had the idea, executing it was easy! First off, all of the supplies I used came from Hobby Lobby. You could also get things like this at Michaels Craft Store, JoAnns, or multiple places. IKEA is a great source for vases on a budget too!

♬ LOSING MY MIND – Lo Lytes

First up, you’re going to put your pillar candle in the hurricane vase. Then you’ll want to start putting in your diamond filler up to the level you desire. I bought four boxes of filler for five vases, and ended up using three of the boxes. It all comes down to the level you like visually. You can see below how high I filled mine.

For the candles, I had five centerpieces total because I had five tables. So, I did (2) of one candle design, (2) of a different design and (1) on its own for my table! But, you could get all of the same candle if you want them to match. I just made sure they all had silver in them.

For the diamond filler, I used clear diamonds because I felt it looked more sophisticated than the silver. The silver ended up looking a little plastic-y. So, I went back to the clear.

I chose this vase because I really liked it’s unique shape. It’s tapered at the top and has a modern look. Combined with the patterned mirror disc, it’s a great unique centerpiece

The DIY Wedding Centerpiece in Action – and a Final Tip

And, that’s it! Plop that sucker on the table! I will tell you that in transporting these DIY wedding centerpieces, you need to have something sturdy in the car. You don’t want to dump them over and spill all of your diamond scatter. (I did that – on the way home thankfully). You might also consider a glue dot or some adhesive to keep your candle in place if you’re worried about it shifting in transport. I didn’t glue anything and it all worked out just fine. I used a plastic tub to carry these. But, they were heavy. Luckily, I had manual labor with me (my sister – she’s an athlete).

Wrap Up

Wedding centerpieces don’t have to be complicated! Sometimes simple is key. You want to be able to let your guests talk and socialize and see each other! And you don’t want to take up too much room on the table. Unless you have a huge table, then more power to you! If you are DIYing or working on a budget, this DIY is perfect. Each centerpiece cost about $15. So, not too shabby! Of course, I did wait until the products were on sale at Hobby Lobby! Gotta watch those deals! 😊 For more Vegas wedding ideas, check out the blog posts linked below, or the Pinterest Board for Vegas Wedding ideas. Happy Wedding Planning!
