‘Tis the season for office parties, white elephant gift exchanges and surprising the neighbors! The DIY coffee gift idea I put together is easy and perfect for almost anyone! (Well, anyone who likes coffee). It’s quick, easy and a favorite quick gift.
The Materials You Need to Make the DIY Coffee Gift
What you’ll need: wine box, to go coffee bottle, crinkle paper, chocolate espresso beans, gift card to coffee shop, ribbon, optional: paint, paint brush
I have a couple helpful hints about this gift idea.
The Box: The wine box I purchased at Michael’s Craft store. There are many wine box options out there. You could even make this gift work with a wine bag too. I liked this one in particular because the top slides off. It’s kind of unique. *Disclaimer* It did come unfinished and I painted it. The fun part about that is you could paint in any color you want! I kept on the “snow” theme.
The Crinkle Paper: I got this at The Dollar Tree. You could find a comparable one at a craft store or dollar store. I just got one package, and I didn’t even need to use it all.
The Coffee Materials: I went coffee shopping at Starbucks. They’re pretty much everywhere. Lol. But you can go to your favorite coffee shop. Look for a coffee travel bottle, while keeping in mind, will it fit in a wine box. If it’s super wide, that won’t work for this gift setup. I picked up a small bag of chocolate covered espresso beans. And don’t forget the gift card!
How to Put your Coffee Gift Together
Step 1: If you need to, paint your wine box. Make sure you give it enough time to dry. I painted mine the day before I put it together.
Step 2: Add in the crinkle paper. This may take some adjusting. I put the whole bag in, but when I started adding items, it was too full to close the top. So, play around with the filling amount.
Step 3: Add the contents of the gift in. I put the gift card and espresso beans below the coffee bottle. This way the bottle holds those two things down. The other thing to consider is that you don’t want the box to be not full enough. You don’t want the contents to be constantly shifting around. So, make sure the stuffing is enough to keep the contents stable. This could take a few times adding and subtracting paper crinkles.
Step 4: Slide on your top and tie some ribbon in a bow on top. If you’re using a traditional box with a top and no handle like this one, you can buy a traditional package bow to pop on top.
That’s it! It’s that simple. Now you have yourself an easy, last minute gift idea for that party/coworker/friend that you need to get together fast.
